- The 8 rights of medication administration
- Types, classifications, and routes of medication
- Prescribing principles and maintaining accurate records
- Medication errors, causes, prevention, and reporting
- Safe storage, disposal, and infection control
- Self-administration and promoting independence
- Contraindications, allergies, and overdose management
- Monitoring dosage systems and medication calculations
Assessment: Includes a medication calculation test or MCQ test (role dependent) and practical medication administration assessment.

Prerequisite Requirements
Participants must:

- Have experience supporting, teaching, or supervising staff
- Have employer approval to undertake the trainer role and deliver medication training after completion
